作品の概要

この作品は、アンティークのガラス皿の上に、薔薇、カラヴァッジオの「聖マタイと天使」の絵に出てくる天使の翼を配したデジタルコラージュです。皿は今でも私の家にありますが、薔薇は枯れてしまい、絵の現物は第二次世界大戦中に焼失しています。これを作る間、私は「はかなさ」というものについて考えていました。作品はそれを反映したものとなっています。 デジタル画は不思議です。光でしかないのに、仮にはかなげなものを描いたとしてもまるでブロックチェーン上のデータのように永続するかのような相貌を、帯びることがあります。 This piece is a digital collage of rose and the wing of an angel from Caravaggio's painting "Saint Matthew and the Angel" on an antique glass plate. The plate is still in my house, but the rose died and the original painting was burned during World War II. While making this, I was thinking about transience. The work is a reflection of that. Digital art is intriguing. Even though it's only light on monitors, even if I draw something transient, it can take on an appearance of permanence, like data on a blockchain.
